This is the true story about a mayor of a small California town who fought back against the local fossil fuel industry when they tried to squash her climate bill. 

 

In 2020, Southern California Gas learned about a proposed bill to make San Luis Obispo more climate friendly. In response, they accused the city council of being corrupt. The company also threatened to give the city COVID by bussing in dozens of unmasked union members in to protest.  Finally, they weaponized the Black Lives Matter movement to call the bill racist. And yet, the bill still passed.
